Larkin University announced Dr. Marti Echols MEd PhD as the new Dean of LU’s College of Biomedical Sciences.

Today, March 26 2019, LARKIN UNIVERSITY announced Dr. Marti Echols MEd PhD as the new Dean of LU’s College of Biomedical Sciences. She will assume her new position on April 1, 2018. Dr Echols’s appointment comes at the end of an extensive search process, and LU President & CEO Dr. Rudi H. Ettrich, RNDr MSc PhD expressed his thanks to the search committee chair, Dr. Felix Rivera Mariani and the entire search committee for their recommendation and their considerations for the future of LU’s College of Biomedical Sciences. Dr. Echols follows Dr Ettrich in this position who has been appointed LU President & CEO in December 2018.

Dr. Echols received her M Ed from Ashland University, Ohio, and her PhD from Ohio University in Athens. She served for 10 years as Assistant Dean & Chair of Medical Education at the College of Osteopathic Medicine of Nova Southeastern University, Ft Lauderdale. Before joining LU she served as associate Dean at the Arkansas Colleges of Health Education in Forth Smith (2016-2018). Her extensive background in higher education, developing and establishing new study programs, regional and programmatic accreditation will meet the needs of the College and contribute to the growth of Larkin University. Dr Ettrich said in his announcement: “I am convinced that Dr Echols will do a great job in serving the college and our Larkin family. I am sure that under her guidance the College will get ready for the expected growth and new study programs.
