Welcome to the Master of Biomedical Sciences (MBS) degree program in the College of Biomedical Sciences at Larkin University. The program has graduated students from the program who have enrolled in medical schools, dental schools, optometry schools, and pharmacy schools in both the United States and Caribbean Islands. Our graduates have seen improvements not only in their GPA but also in their MCAT, PCAT and DAT scores which enhance their chances for admission to professional school.
Our program will prepare you academically to compete in professional school using a four-step process. First, our rigorous advanced science courses focus on the needs of the various health professions. We utilize the USMLE Step 1 guidelines for our curriculum and outcome measures. Our close relationship to Larkin Community Hospital: A Teaching Hospital, provides opportunities for our students to interact and shadow physicians, dentists, podiatrists, pharmacists, fellows, residents, specialists and other expert healthcare practitioners to enhance your clinical shadowing experiences. Third, we partner with a national exam preparation company to provide a comprehensive exam preparation program which includes science content, a huge test bank and over 10 practice exams to maximize your performance on the health professions admission exam. Finally, working with faculty, you will participate in research experiences that will strengthen your critical thinking skills and make you a more competitive candidate. We believe that we have one of the strongest programs in the area. It is my pleasure to partner with you to achieve your academic goals!
