Dr. Nemire, as the new Dean of LU’s COP!

The leadership of Larkin University is pleased to announce the appointment of Dr. Ruth E. Nemire, RPh, PharmD, EdD, FCCP, FNAP, CRQM as the new Dean of LU’s College of Pharmacy. Dr. Nemire is a highly regarded scholar, researcher and academic leader with over 25 years of experience. Dr. Nemire earned a doctorate in Pharmacy from the University of Toledo, Ohio, and a doctorate in Education from Nova Southeastern University, Florida, and has served in a variety of academic and professional leadership positions in both Schools of Pharmacy and Medicine. Dr Nemire served as Founding Dean of Medco School of Pharmacy of Fairleigh Dickinson University, New Jersey, associate dean of Touro College of Pharmacy, New York, and senior vice president of the American Association of Colleges of Pharmacy(AACP). Dr. Nemire was elected Fellow of the American College of Clinical Pharmacy in 2012 and a Distinguished Fellow of the National Academies of Practice in 2019. In July 2020 Dr Nemire joined the Faculty in the Department of Clinical and Administrative Sciences at Larkin University. “Dr. Nemire brings excellent credentials and extensive experience to the College of Pharmacy” said LU President & CEO Dr. Rudi H. Ettrich, RNDr MSc PhD, “Larkin University will benefit from her experience in leadership, higher education and pharmacy accreditation. Her breadth of knowledge, having worked at universities, professional organizations and most notably as a founding member of two colleges of pharmacy, will meet the needs of our students and the College and contribute to the growth of Larkin University”. Dr. Nemire assumes her new position on February 15, 2020. Dr. Nemire follows founding dean Dr Gary M Levin, PharmD, BCPP, FCCP who retired on Feb 13, 2021. Dr Ettrich said in his announcement: “I am convinced that Dr. Nemire will do a great job in serving the college and our Larkin family. I am sure that under her guidance the College will be ready for full accreditation and the expected growth that follows.”
