Research Profile

Dr. Joshua Caballero,
Chair, Department of Clinical & Administrative Sciences
College of Pharmacy

Dr. Joshua Caballero completed a BA in Psychology from the University of Florida and received his PharmD from the University of Tennessee Health Science Center. Afterwards, he completed a psychiatric residency at the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio and a pharmacotherapy fellowship at The Ohio State University. His current research interest is on academia focusing on student’s successfully securing post-graduate opportunities. Through grants, he is researching how chronic conditions (e.g., HIV, diabetes) may impact cognition and medication adherence in underserved patients. Recently, through FLIGHT/VIDAS ( we are building (among several projects) a computerized pharmacy application to improve health literacy among Hispanics with type 2 diabetes. He has published in the areas of cognitive function and most recently authored a chapter in ASHP’s HIV-Pharmacotherapy. Most notably, he is the primary editor for ASHP’s book on securing pharmacy residencies, Get the Residency.
